About Animals everywhere

For many people, Egyptian art appears like a great “wildlife garden”. This already applies to writing. Anyone viewing inscriptions on Egyptian monuments in a museum will encounter many depictions of animals and animal parts. What applies to writing applies even more to religion. Animals are omnipresent.   The selection showcased in the gallery can only provide a glimpse of the richness of animal depiction in ancient Egyptian culture. These representations manifest in various forms, on diverse media, and span periods from the Old Kingdom to the Ptolemaic Period.
