The large dish has thin walls, the exterior is convex with a slightly flattened base. The rim of the dish is curved inwards with the upper part slightly rounded and on the interiopr of the base is a circular groove.
Vases that were part of funerary equipment like this example, first appeared around the third millennium BC. Cylindrical vessels, with or without rope decoration, have been found since the Predynastic Period.
