Vase with a slender slightly concave body, widening towards the rim which is lined by a thick lip and a fine twisted rope below the rim. The alabaster has brown bands of varying widths decorating the vessel horizontally.
Vases that were part of funerary equipment like this example, first appeared around the third millennium BC. Cylindrical vessels, with or without rope decoration, have been found since the Predynastic Period.
